Ben was born and raised in London, and is a dual US/UK citizen.He is very experienced at helping American actors (and others) to be British, as well as British actors (and others) to be American. He has coached a wide variety of American and British accents as well as dialects from Africa, Europe, Australasia, and Asia.When coaching, Ben’s primary goal is to work with the actor and director to find the voice of the character.He trained as an Accent, Text, and Voice coach at the Central School of Speech and Drama. After graduating, he taught and coached in Dublin and then moved to the US where he lived for over 20 years. Based in New York from 2009 until 2019, Ben became the go-to coach for British and Irish accents.On Broadway, he coached a number of TONY and other award-winning productions including The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time, Matilda, INK and Billy Elliot; working with actors in those shows on their TONY award winning performances.Ben’s film and television credits include How to Train Your Dragon (Live Action), Lost City of Z, Elementary (3 seasons), Hunters, Blindspot and Vine Talk. In theatre, he has worked on over 135 professional productions. US theatre includes productions at major companies in New York and throughout North America, as well as Broadway transfers from the Royal National Theatre and the RSC. Since returning to the UK, Ben has worked on shows like Brokeback Mountain in London’s West End and three shows at Chichester Festival Theatre.Teaching includes RADA, Juilliard, University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and the Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin.Among the actors Ben has worked with are: Jelani Alladin, Michael Aronov, Simon Russell Beale, Brían F.
